Temple of Philae

Our tour of Aswan included a visit to the temple of Philae, which is located on an island in Lake Nasser. This is one monument that Nancy's family did not visit in the 1960's since it was half submerged by the river level backed up by the old dam. It would have been further submerged by the High Dam, but was moved to its present location through an effort by UNESCO.
